01 Studio & Approach
Who is behind MCB Studio?
MCB Studio is led by Martin-Christopher Bode — filmmaker based in Nuremberg, Germany.
20 years of filmmaking experience, Raindance Film Festival Winner 2013 (for the short film A Good Story), Academy Awards qualified in 2015, more than 16 international festival awards. Former head of the Munich Film Academy, lecturer in London.
Where do you shoot?
Based in Nuremberg, we shoot wherever your project is — in Bavaria, across Germany, the DACH region, or internationally.
MCB Studio brings 20 years of international production experience; remote or multi-day shoots are not an obstacle.
Which industries do you work with?
We work with brands, foundations, cultural projects, organisations, mid-market companies, and people with a story of their own.
We do not specialise in single industries — what matters is whether the story holds up and whether a documentary, cinematic approach makes sense.
02 Project & Process
What does a typical project look like?
Six steps, clearly structured:
1. Briefing (free of charge) — we listen and propose a format.
2. Concept & quote — written, transparent.
3. Pre-production — shooting plan, script, locations, casting.
4. Shoot.
5. Post-production — editing, colour grading, sound design.
6. Revision rounds and final delivery.
How long does a production take?
It depends on the format:
Social Content Day: 2 to 4 weeks from briefing to delivery.
Brand Story Film: 4 to 8 weeks.
YouTube Documentary: 6 to 12 weeks.
Documentary Film: several months, depending on research and shooting scope.
Do I need a finished script?
No. A rough idea or a topic is enough — concept and script can be developed together.
If you already have a clear idea or script: even better, we will start from there.
Is the first briefing chargeable?
No. The first conversation and an initial concept sparring are free of charge and non-binding.
The written quote follows once we have agreed on a format and a frame together.
03 Pricing, Rights & Delivery
What does a film at MCB Studio cost?
Starting prices:
Social Content Day from €1,500
Brand Story Film from €2,500
YouTube Documentary from €8,000
Documentary and fiction projects are quoted individually. All prices excl. VAT.
What if my budget is smaller than the starting prices?
We will still find an individual solution. Just write to us with your frame — from a reduced half-day shoot to a smaller package, a lot can be discussed.
An honest conversation beats a standard product that does not fit.
Who owns the rights to the finished film?
You receive the usage rights for the purposes agreed in the quote — typically web, social media, campaign, internal use.
The copyright remains with MCB Studio and the respective creators. Extended exploitation rights (TV, cinema, exclusive) are available on request and are agreed separately.
